Executive Team

Mark Reynoso - Chief Executive Officer

Mark Reynoso is the Chief Executive Officer of EcoSense Lighting, Inc. He began his career at Belkin in 1996 in product management. In January 1998, he moved to Europe to spearhead Belkin’s expansion into international markets. Mr. Reynoso returned to Belkin U.S. in 2002 to lead corporate strategy. He progressed through a series of roles in the company, eventually rising to the role of President and CEO. Under his leadership Belkin scaled to over a $1billion in revenue, maintaining leading market share positions in the categories it served, while simultaneously achieving a record number of industry accolades for design and innovation. Mr. Reynoso is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society.

Paul Pickard - Chief Technology Officer

Paul Pickard is the Chief Technology Officer of EcoSense Lighting, Inc. He has an impressive background including 15 years in the lighting industry. He was the Systems Architect for Cree Advanced Lighting Technology (ALT), where he served on the leadership team that developed and launched Cree’s line of consumer light bulbs. His professional experience includes leadership positions in Operations, Product Development and R&D at LLF/Cree Lighting and New Product Engineering at Acuity Brands Lighting. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of New Mexico and holds 70 US patents.

Christina Loh - Chief Operating Officer

Christina has most recently held positions at Microsoft as the Global Supply Chain Leader for Surface & Windows Hardware, at HP as the Global Custom Integration Services (CIS) Business Lead and the VP of Global Planning and Fulfillment for Palm. At Microsoft she drove all functions from Sourcing, Manufacturing, NPI, Planning, Channel Execution and Logistics to support all global direct, retail and commercial channels. While running CIS she was responsible for developing and managing global value-add, high-margin services to enhance HP’s position as a solution provider and increase top and bottom-line revenue. With Palm, she was responsible for Planning, Materials, Logistics and Customer Operations. Across these four main functions, she was able to drive forecast accuracy and stabilization, customer orders, material availability, and transportation to meet customer commitments and optimize supplier performance.

Steven Gelsomini - VP of Finance

Mr. Gelsomini brings over 10 years of lighting industry experience to EcoSense and guides all aspects of the company’s financial operations. Prior to joining EcoSense Lighting, Steve was the Controller for Jones & Bartlett Publishing and was instrumental in the advancement of the company’s finance department. Previously, he spent 2 years serving as controller for Philips Solid State Lighting Solutions and 8 years at Color Kinetics serving in numerous finance and operation roles while helping the company grow at a CAGR of 35%. Color Kinetics sold to Philips in 2007 for $800 million. Mr. Gelsomini holds an MBA from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.

Robert T. McCulley - VP of Sales – Americas

Mr. McCulley is responsible for expanding the company’s business development, sales and marketing initiatives in the U.S. His 28 years of lighting industry sales experience are marked by a solid track record of building successful sales teams and positioning companies for profitability while growing revenue. Mr. McCulley spent nearly 10 years in the sales organization at Color Kinetics, establishing market strategies and a manufacturer network for the professional lighting segment and exceeding revenue and margin targets in over sixteen consecutive quarters to help position the company for its IPO and eventual acquisition by Philips. Prior to joining EcoSense, Mr. McCulley was Vice President of Global Sales for Renaissance Lighting. He has also held sales positions with American Light and E. Sam Jones, and attended Southwest Texas University and University of Houston.

Cristina Rodrigues - VP of Marketing

Ms. Rodrigues is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of global marketing initiatives for EcoSense. Ms. Rodrigues brings over 20 years of International Marketing & Product Development experience that includes working at a Fortune 500 company (Staples Inc.), a Forbes 25 (Samsonite Corp.) company, as well as 12 years of experience in the LED Lighting industry – helping to grow young entrepreneurial start-up companies, namely Color Kinetics (acquired by Philips) and Renaissance Lighting (acquired by Acuity Brands). Prior to working at EcoSense, Ms. Rodrigues held top management positions as Director of Global Brand Marketing at Rosetta Stone and Director of Strategic Marketing at Acuity Brands. Her well-rounded experience also includes years as an International Product Manager at Jarden Consumer Solutions, developing and launching electrical consumer products in global markets. Ms. Rodrigues earned a Bachelors Degree from Providence College and holds an MBA from Babson College.

Keri Ohlrich, PhD. - VP of Human Resources

Dr. Keri Ohlrich aligns talent to drive business strategy and results. She is responsible for entire HR function, which includes, talent development, talent acquisition, organizational development, compensation, benefits and engagement. Before joining EcoSense Lighting, Ohlrich was the Global Director of Talent Management at Quad Graphics and was responsible for talent development for 25,000 employees. Before Quad, Ohlrich was the Director of Human Resources and Change Leadership for the Manpower line of business within ManpowerGroup. Specifically, she ensured Manpower had the change management focus and talent to drive an organization wide transformation. While at ManpowerGroup, she led the Talent and Organization Development department. Additionally, Ohlrich worked in several HR leadership roles for RR Donnelley, Exxceed and Miller Brewing including Career Development, Learning, Performance Management and Consulting/Competency work. Her expertise spans learning, change leadership, performance management, talent and leadership acquisition, strategic planning, communications and organization design.

Eugene Kwak - VP of Products

Mr. Kwak brings over 14 years of experience in Engineering and Product Management, creating innovative technologies across multiple industries. He was an integral part of SpaceX’s success as a Lead Engineer, while helping the company grow from barely 100 employees to over 3,000. At NVIDIA, Mr. Kwak was the Senior Product Manager for the Professional Solutions Group, driving the next generation visualization hardware which is used with many virtual reality products today. Most recently, Mr. Kwak was the Director of Product Management at Skycatch, a data capture startup in Silicon Valley, utilizing UAVs to capture data, where he navigated regulatory hurdles and delivered one of the most innovative UAV solutions on the market. He holds a BS in Computer Science from SUNY Binghamton, and MS degrees in Engineering and Management from the University of Southern California and MIT/MIT Sloan in Engineering and Management, respectively.

George Mueller - Director

A seasoned entrepreneur who has already established several successful ventures in his career, Mr. Mueller is the author of over 50 technology patents in the solid-state lighting field and beyond. With the creation of Color Kinetics in 1996, he helped propel the widespread cross-market adoption of LEDs as an illumination source, ushering in a new era of digital lighting that continues to thrive. Recognized as an innovative business leader, he was named Ernst & Young New England Entrepreneur of the Year 2005. Mr. Mueller earned a BS from Carnegie Mellon University with a dual major in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with a minor in Fine Art.

Gary Mueller - Director

Gary Mueller is currently Chairman, LiqudX Inc., the largest electronic exchange for trade assets. He is also a director of 7Park Data, Inc and Further Future. He is also founder of Synapse Events, and a Senior Advisor to HighVista Strategies. He was Chairman International at Eagle Capital from 2010 to 2012. From 2006 to 2010, Gary was Chairman and CEO of Institutional Investor, Inc., where he managed 900 people. He was founder, Chairman and CEO of ISI Emerging Markets, a leading data and information company that has 550 employees in offices in 30 countries. He founded ISI in 1994 and led its profitable growth until 2010. Gary received his Bachelor of Arts and M.B.A. from Harvard University. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Frankfurt in Germany. He was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Harvard Business School, where he is also on the Board of Advisors of the Rock Centre for Entrepreneurship.

Ihor Lys, PhD. - Director

Dr Lys co-founded Color Kinetics in 1997 with George Mueller where and he’s received more than 50 patents for his groundbreaking work in advancing LED technology. After the acquisition by Philips, he was the SSL Chief Technology Officer for a year before leaving in 2009. He received his Ph.D from Carnegie Mellon University.

Ed Kania - Director

Ed Kania co-founded Flagship Pioneering in 2000 and is Managing Partner and Chairman. Prior to co-founding Flagship Pioneering, he was General Partner of One Liberty Ventures and of its predecessor firm, Morgan, Holland Ventures.  Ed served as an Investment Officer at First Capital Corporation of Boston, and previously, as Research Associate at Harvard Business School, and as General Manager at J. Cunningham, Inc.  He is a frequent speaker on venture capital and entrepreneurship.  Ed earned his undergraduate degree in physics from Dartmouth College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

John Connolly – Director

John joined Bain Capital Ventures in 2009. Prior to joining Bain Capital Ventures, John was President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of M|C Communications. Prior to M|C, John was President and Chief Executive Officer of Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS). During his tenure, ISS doubled in revenues and realized 250% increase in profit over three years. ISS was sold to the The RiskMetrics Group in 2006. John received his BA from St. Norbert College.John attended the Executive Education Program at INSEAD.

David Frazee – Director

David Frazee is a Managing Partner of Richmond Global Ventures. As a Silicon Valley based high technology strategist, entrepreneur, and attorney, David has spent his career working with global innovative technology companies, entrepreneurs, and funds, helping them to succeed through the creation and execution of comprehensive international corporate, business, and intellectual property strategies. In addition to having represented over 300 startups and dozens of venture funds, David has a real-world operational understanding of the unique business problems of emerging growth companies, having served in three technology start-ups — one of which he led through a US$128 million investment and subsequent IPO before it was acquired. David has advised governments, entrepreneurs, and funds worldwide on innovation and has spoken at the Fortune Global Forum in Beijing and the Financial Times Innovation Summit in London.
